Considering the kind of media attention her 2-part interview with the Kardashian clan generated, it was to be expected for Oprah to take their collaboration one step further. She will soon be stepping into the reality television realm with an appearance on their show.

Even though, a few years back, Oprah said something to the effect of not understanding why reality shows, such as those with the Kardashians, were so popular with audiences, the talk show host seems to have had a change of heart.

Not only did she interview all of them for what some media outlets have called the interview that consolidated the Kardashians' reputation as television's most bankable stars, but she's also accepted an offer to appear on one of the episodes for their series, E! News reports.

“Can Oprah Winfrey keep up with the Kardashians? She sure can! The former daytime queen turned OWN mogul will appear on an upcoming episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, E! News can confirm,” E! says.

“The Kardashians and Jenners (plus Lamar Odom and Scott Disick, honorary K's in our book) recently sat down with O for a two-part Oprah's Next Chapter special on OWN,” the same media outlet adds.

“Kim opened up about her relationship with Kanye West, Khloe spilled the secret to her and Lam Lam's happy marriage, Kris Jenner chatted about the fine line between mother and manager and much more,” adds the e-zine.

It says nothing of what Oprah's cameo will consist of, but the mention about the interview can't be accidental, especially since this is coming from E!, the website of the same company that owns the network that launched the Kardashians.

In other words, chances are Oprah won't actually make an “appearance” on the reality show as much as she's given her consent to have footage taped for the interview for OWN included in one of the episodes.

At best, some behind the scenes scenes will also be included.

While this isn't exactly like saying Oprah is now turning to (more or less) scripted reality shows for ratings, it does beg the question of how far she's willing to go to get her OWN network out of trouble.

Fans must know that Oprah has been having trouble with the network, even admitting in a relatively recent interview that launching it when she did was a mistake because she wasn't yet ready for such a huge step.
