One week after the first live pictures of the Oppo N3 leaked online, the Chinese handset maker confirmed the smartphone would be officially unveiled on October 29.

Although Oppo did not share any other details on the upcoming flagship smartphone, we already know quite a few things about the N3. However, given the fact that the information comes via a third-party source, we recommend our readers to take it with a grain of salt until Oppo confirms it officially.

The successor of the Oppo N1, one of the most popular Android smartphones launched by the Chinese company, the N3 is expected to pack a similar swivel camera that allows owners to use the photo snapper as both rear and front camera.

As many of you probably have already noticed by now, Oppo has skipped the N2 entirely and will be launching the N3 at the end of this month. It’s unclear why the handset maker took this decision, but the number 2 may have some sort of unfortunate signification in Chinese culture.

All in all, the Oppo N3 is not too far from being unveiled and here is what Android fans can expect from the top-tier smartphone that’s likely to replace the N1.

First of all, the device will come with a 13-megapixel rotating camera that will feature autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

Two variations of the Oppo N3 might be announced later this month

Just like its predecessor, the Oppo N3 will boast a large 5.9-inch capacitive touchscreen display that will support full HD (1080p) resolution.

Even though previous rumors pointed to a possible QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display, it looks like the N3 will sport a standard full HD screen after all.

We also expect the N3 to be armed with a powerful 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and no less than 3GB of RAM. This is one of Qualcomm’s newest chipsets, so Oppo fans will be pleased to hear the Chinese company is likely to include it in their next flagship smartphone.

Design-wise, Oppo is rumored to launch two N3 variants, an aluminum lithium version and a stainless steel model. They will probably be priced differently, but since we don’t have any details on the matter, we can’t confirm the information yet.

According to Oppo, the N3 will be officially unveiled on October 29 in Singapore. Still, we expect the smartphone to be rolled out internationally soon after. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
