Chinese OEM recently launched two high-end smartphones, the R7 and R7 Plus, which are already available for pre-order in some countries. They are expected to hit shelves next month, but there's no confirmation on that for now.

But that won't be the only Android smartphones to be launched by Oppo this summer. It looks like an unannounced Oppo A51 has just popped up at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission.

Judging from the specs listed, the Oppo A51 is a mid-range smartphone that will ship with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system out of the box. That will greatly help Oppo's mid-end smartphone to stand out from other devices in the same price range.

The Oppo A51 is likely to be introduced in China initially, but we expect the handset maker to use another market name. It's unclear whether or not the A51 will be available internationally.

However, we do know the smartphone sports a decent 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. There's no mention of Corning Gorilla Glass coating yet.

It should be out soon for just $210

When it comes to hardware, the A51 is listed with a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, which is complemented by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

On top of that, the midranger is equipped with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

According to the filing at TENAA, Oppo A51 measures 143.4 × 71.2 × 7.65mm and weighs 160g (battery included). It also packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB), as well as many connectivity features, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support.

Oppo A51 is expected to be released in China in the coming weeks for the price of 1,300 yuan, which is about $210 or €185.
