Valve has just unleashed a brand new in-game event for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, in the form of Operation Breakout, which allows all owners of the game access to six top-rated community maps, not to mention an array of new mechanics for those who purchase the All Access Pass.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has seen quite a few different in-game events over the last year or so, starting with Operation Payback, which was a way to reward users who made great new maps for the game, and continuing with Operation Bravo and Operation Phoenix.

Now, a brand new Operation has rolled out, in the form of Breakout, which introduces a few changes to the regular event rules.

Unlike in previous ones, all CS:GO owners can play on the collection of six all-new top-rated community maps, according to Valve's official blog post.

However, those who want more from the new event can purchase an All Access Pass that gives them new mechanics as well as the traditional upgradeable Challenge Coin that can be displayed near their name inside the game.

The Breakout Pass also gives access to missions that drop other objectives upon completion.

"The Breakout Pass gives you access to mission drops, which you can receive wherever you play CS:GO. Completing missions will help you upgrade your Challenge Coin, and will also reward you with one of 45 exclusive weapon finishes from three new weapon collections: the Baggage Collection, Cobblestone Collection, and Overpass collection."

As with previous operations, Breakout also comes with its own themed weapon case that includes not just great skins made by the community but also the brand new Butterfly Knife, which has unique animations.

While previous operations brought forth a special achievement page, Breakout has its own digital journal that tracks all sorts of stats and compares them to the performances of your friends.

"You’ll also be able to keep track of your accomplishments with the Operation Breakout Journal. The Journal will separately track key stats for your official competitive matches on all Operation Breakout maps, as well as for all Active Duty maps. Want to see how you stack up to your friends? The Operation Journal also includes a Friends Leaderboard, where you can compare your progress throughout the operation."

The brand new Operation Breakout for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is now available inside the first-person shooter for all players to try out, and the All Access Pass is available as an in-game purchase.
