Verizon has just announced that the popular mobile browser Opera Mini is now available on select feature-phones, including LG enV2, LG enV3, LG enV TOUCH, Samsung Alias 2, Casio G’zOne Ravine and Casio G’zOne Rock.

The carrier also mentioned that the mobile browser will soon be added to additional handsets.

With more than 90M users in February 2011, Opera Mini offers an enhanced user experience for Internet navigation.

With the new move, Verizon customers who own one of the select feature-phones will be able to take advantage of the PC-like web browsing experience.

Getting Opera Mini on the Verizon Wireless network is a big milestone, as we are able to reach Verizon Wireless’ vast customer base,” said Lars Boilesen, chief executive officer, Opera Software.

We are happy that Verizon Wireless customers will now have access to a superior browser and, in the future, we will be launching more devices with Opera Mini preinstalled.”

In addition to the application's unique compression technology, Verizon and Opera offer customers a new feature called Content Filters, which lets parents enable a safe browsing experience for their children.

Opera’s cross-platform web-browser technology is renowned for its performance, standards compliance and small size, while giving users a faster, safer and more dynamic online experience.

Although the Opera Mini is only available on six devices for the moment, the carrier stated that the popular browser will come preloaded later this year as the primary browser on additional select devices.

Verizon customers who own one of the feature phones listed above can find and download the app in the Media Center/Get It Now menu or in Verizon Wireless' online media store.

Obviously, Verizon does not charge any subscription fee to access the Opera Mini browser. However, data and usage charges may apply during download and use of the application.
