"Your phone's best friend", meaning Opera Mini, the popular mobile web browser, is available as of today in a new version: 4.1 Beta. Opera Mini 4.1 Beta brings several improvements to the 4.0 version, offering an even better mobile browsing experience.

Working with almost any mobile device on the market, Opera Mini 4.1 Beta is set to bring an elevated level of interactivity between users, their phones and the Web. The new Beta browser is faster with up to 50% than the 4.0 version and comes with enhancements like: URL auto-completion (for effortless and intuitive Web address input), new Find feature (letting you instantly find any word and content you're interested in), page saving (very useful when you can't lose too much time with the Web connection open and you want to save for later the content you're viewing), and the ability to download and upload files directly from the browser.

"There's a reason Opera Mini has made such an impact around the world - our community," said Jon von Tetzchner, Opera's CEO, in a press released published today. "Your input and feedback have pushed us to make Opera Mini better with each version. I hope everyone enjoys these new features, but we ask for your candor and feedback as we get ready to make Opera Mini even more relevant to the millions of people who use us and the millions of people who discover Opera Mini every month."

Since the 4.1 version of Opera Mini is still in Beta, some of its functions might not work properly until a stable version is released. However, users must try the Beta, available for Java (click here to download), BlackBerry (click here to download) and Palm (click here to download) handsets.

Opera Mini 4.1 Beta is, as all the other versions of the browser, available for free and for everyone.
