Good news for Android users in India, as Opera Software has just announced its Max application will be available in the country very soon.

Opera Max is an Android application that allows users to manage their data, but it also helps them save on phone bills, thus extending their data plans.

Although it's already available for download on Google Play Store, it can only be used in several countries for the moment. However, Opera Software is pushing its data-management and data-saving application to more countries pretty often.

“Opera Max is already used and loved in several countries. And now, it is finally getting closer to Indian shores! Make it your preferred app for data management and save on phone bills,” says Opera Software in a blog post.

Once it's released in India, Android users in this country will be able to manage their data with Opera Max since the application provides real-time, daily and monthly data usage statistics.

This way, you will be able to find out which apps drain your data allowance so you can block them.

Smaller phone bills, faster Internet browsing

According to developers, Opera Max can extend data plans by up to 50% by simply compressing videos, images and media from apps and websites. This means that you will need less data to download from websites, which also translates into faster mobile browsing speeds.

When it comes to security, Opera Max doesn't optimize any data sent using encrypted connections, so all users' private data will be forwarded directly to the desired destination instead of being proxied through the Opera Max savings cloud.

Opera Max doesn't analyze or store private data like photos, emails or videos, so you don't have to worry about your privacy.

You can now download Opera Max for Android for free via Google Play store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.
