14 DAY TRIAL // Opera 11.50 has been available for about five hours now and it's already shot past the one million downloads mark. There's no sign of slowing down either, Opera seems bent on setting a new record for the fastest downloads to date.
There's a simple way of knowing just how many times Opera 11.50 has been downloaded already, the company installed a counter on its homepage to track the metric and also compare it to some fun, random facts.
So far, the number of Opera downloads has surpassed some impressive or at least interesting numbers. Right off the bat, in 17 minutes, the number for most people on stilts at the same time, 1908, was beaten.
Five minutes later, there were more Opera 11.50 downloads than the largest number of people practicing Wing Chun at the same time, 3,167.
Things precipitated from here, within another six minutes, 28 minutes after Opera 11.50 became available, fans of Tom Selleck's mustache, all 14,741 of them, were outnumbered.
After 53 minutes, there were more downloads than the number of posts the most prolific Opera forums user Tamil has written, 113,696. Opera's Facebook fans, 461,049 were outnumbered a little over two hours after launch.
Less than two hours after that, the high score for Frogger, 896,980, was beaten by Opera downloads. The most recent number to be overshadowed, is the Death Star's crew of 1,161,293.
And the downloads keep on coming, at the time of writing, it's already past 1,2 million, five hours or so after Opera 11.50 was launched.
Opera's counter seems to go all the way up to five million and there are still seven records or interesting numbers to be revealed if and when the download counter passes them, so be sure the check back.
