Just a day after it introduced the final version of Opera 10.52, the Norwegian browser maker started offering a new development snapshot, this time around, of the third update to Opera 10.50. Opera 10.53 Release Candidate 1 is now available for download for early adopters running the Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. Earlier this week, Opera Software managed to wrap up Opera 10.52, the second minor refresh to version 10.52. Just as Opera 10.52 before it, version 10.53 will be focused on resolving various issues with the browser that survived past the released to web milestone of Opera 10.50.

“A crash was reported as a security issue yesterday, and we are still investigating the issue. However, we do have a fix ready for testing already. This build also fixes a freeze on Google Maps, and an issue with custom distributions of Opera,” a member of the Opera Desktop team revealed.

While it has been hard at work on the first updates for Opera 10.50 for Windows, as well as on catching up with the browser flavors for Mac OS X and Linux, Opera Software has yet to reveal what the future holds for its browser. Until this point in time, the Norway-based browser maker has kept quiet on the next major iteration of Opera. A new release of Opera was offered today, April 29th, 2010, to early adopters running the Linux open source operating system.

“Opera for UNIX is getting very close to a Beta now. Indeed you could consider this a Beta RC. That is not to say that all the issues are fixed. They are not, but we do think that it is stable and usable enough for everyday use, although it needs more testing by you gals. So if you have been waiting for more stability prior to testing then now might be a really good time to give it a spin,” Opera’s Ruari Ødegaard stated.
