The latest development snapshot of Opera is yet another step toward the finalization of version 10.52. Opera Software is currently working on the second minor update for Opera 10.50, which was released for the general public earlier this week, and the successor of Opera 10.51. With the delivery of Opera 10.52 Build 3347, the Norwegian browser maker offered early adopters a new build for testing after the Easter holidays. The previous testing snapshot, Opera 10.52 Build 3344, was offered at the start of April, just last week.

“The most important ones are the fix for the nsl issue (waiting for cookie...) and the cache issue. Please take it for a spin and tell us if you find any new regs related to these fixes. When discussing new issues please mention which Operating System you use, including the version (and the distribution and Desktop Environment on UNIX/Linux),” a member of the Opera Desktop team revealed. Obviously, Opera 10.52 Build 3347 is still far from being finalized. In this regard, testers should expect to come across a range of problems, inherent to pre-release software. As far as this specific release is concerned, Opera Software warned testers that they might experience crashes of the browser when tabs would be closed. This is a known issue that will most probably be resolved in upcoming development snapshots.

On the other hand, Opera 10.52 Build 3347 does introduce fixes for bugs affecting previous testing releases. Testers will notice that opera 10.52 won’t get into endless synchronization loops anymore. At the same time, problems associated with never stop loading cause by DNS tests have also been resolved. Still, users that are not inclined to test pre-release software should not install Opera 10.52 until the browser version is finalized. For the time being, the last stable release of the browser is Opera 10.51.
