SCi games management stated that the company is still open for any possible buy-out, outlining the always growing sales their products had over the time, with a 14 percent increase in the last quarter. This raise in the 1st quarter of 2008 (July 1st to September 30th) noted highlighting success of Pony Friends and Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, their latest release. Also, the expectations regarding the Kane and Lynch sales are still high for the United States, as the holidays are coming.

"Over the first quarter we sold games on a variety of platforms including Microsoft's Xbox 360, Nintendo's DS and Wii, and Sony's Playstation 2 and PlayStation 3", said the management statement, pointing the fact that, however, even though the unit sales go up every year, it's a result of low price rates due to the transition from the last-generation to next-generation consoles.

Also, the SCi management statement explains that the contribution from product publishing was lower in the first quarter of 2008 than last year (it was then when the Just Cause franchise was launched, they explained). Still, the contribution from the distribution was higher in the first quarter of 2008, due to a better overall mix of products.

All these numbers are probably intended to add some fuel on the fire of the acquisition talks, and we will see in the future if they did the right thing or not. It's hard to believe otherwise, with quite a handful of game titles in their inventory, with names like Total Overdose - the crazy fast paced and action packed Mexican first person shooter game; Tomb Raider - who doesn't know the beautiful and daring Lara Croft with her 2 big guns, or revolvers, call them as you wish; or Hitman - probably the best known bald killer in video games.
