Water and dust resistant

While most manufacturers are releasing slimmer, more stylish, smart or fun devices, every mm less in size or extra feature will make the phones more easily damageable. A stylish phone with a glossy surface, for example, can be easily scratched when accidentally dropped. Some manufacturers have aimed to release a tougher phone that could be suited for a user with a more active lifestyle.

According to a designer on product design forums, most mobile phones are quite fragile (I'm sure most of you have discovered that at one point in time). In order to provide a more convenient handset that will endure most physical damage and relieve the user of having to constantly worry about scratching or dropping the handset, he has come up with a tough concept phone, dubbed 'Onetp'.

The handset is meant to be extremely basic as functionality and provide a user-friendly experience. It measures approximately 80 x 50 x 12 mm and features what the designer has described as 'dog ears' on the top corners of the display, which are actually the phone's hangup and call keys that can also be used for navigation.

While this needn't be mentioned (since it can be deduced from the handset's design) it is meant to target active users such as mountain climbers, snowboarders and pretty much every user out there that risks damaging a mobile phone often. The handset should also be water and dust proof, so its owner should be able to subject it to pretty much anything he/she can think of without damaging the phone. Overall, the concept phone looks decent, being neither too stylish nor too simple and boring. No details regarding the features it might sport were revealed but it's actually an idea that can easily be turned into a product in the future.
