OnePlus will launch new products at some point

OnePlus has just celebrated one year of existence and to commemorate the occasion they made a few announcements.

The company might have been prevented from selling its Cyanogen-handsets in India, because of another manufacturer, Micromax, which holds an exclusive partnership with the custom ROM maker, but OnePlus won’t be giving up the fight so easily.

The Chinese-maker has just announced it was building its own custom ROM and is currently challenging its fans to come up with an appropriate name for it.

Naturally, we assume the new ROM will come onboard the next-gen OnePlus One, which has been dubbed OnePlus Two by the rumor mill.

OnePlus Two allegedly surfaces in video

Anyway, a still image apparently taken from a promotional OnePlus video purportedly showcases what might be the next-gen handset coming from the company.

The picture doesn't reveal much and we can’t even see the smartphone in all its glory. However, we can tell that the device has a dual SIM card and a micro SD card slot.

The current OnePlus doesn't come bundling a dual SIM slot and doesn't take advantage of a microSD card, so if the image turns out to be the real deal, we’re going to see some important improvements with the second-gen OnePlus.

A few days ago a bunch of pictures leaked into the wild suggesting the Chinese device-maker might be working towards rolling out a smaller version of its flagship phone, called the OnePlus One mini. But as always, we have to be very circumspect about these leakages.

Not long after the images made their way online, it was revealed the Koobee 2 was actually the handset in the photos and not an unannounced OnePlus device.

Possible OnePlus Two specs

Earlier this month, some purported specs of the OnePlus Two were uncovered via a Chinese reseller. The smartphone was said to arrive with a 5.5-inch display and boasting an improved resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.

The model would take advantage of a Snapdragon 805 CPU, 32GB of internal storage, two cameras (16MP on the back and 5MP up in front for selfies and such) and 3300 mAh battery to keep everything juiced up and running for you.

At this point, we can’t really say if any of what we told you above is true or not. One thing’s certain, OnePlus is working on a custom ROM, so it's natural to assume they will also be making a handset for it at some point. The question is whether it’s going to be a mini version or an upgraded version of the current OnePlus One.
