The device appeared in a listing on the alpha version of the company’s website

Not so long ago Chinese device maker OnePlus revealed the One smartphone which arrived with the CyanongenMod 11S platform loaded on top, based on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

The company launched the device onto several markets, including a lot of European territories, UK and US, but it appears OnePlus isn't just willing to sit back and smell the roses.

According to the recent leaks, OnePlus is looking to try their hands at building something other than smartphones. You probably guessed it – judging by the latest image posted by @evleaks, the device maker will most likely soon launch a tablet too.

The image apparently depicts the alpha version of the OnePlus website, and there you can spot an entry for the “OnePlus Tab.” The screenshot has been taken just a few days ago on July 29.

So far so good, but what about the specs of the device? Sadly, for the time being we can’t really tell you anything from this department. We don’t even have a clue on how many inches the tab will bring to the table.

All we can do at this point is speculate. Considering OnePlus’ track record, we could argue the OnePlus Tab might also use CyanongenMod, which would be something quite cool, wouldn't it?

After all, the OnePlus One smartphone comes equipped with some pretty neat feats and only costs $299 / €219 without a contract, so it will be quite interesting to see what the company can do with tablets.

The device will probably be a high-end device coming with a wallet-friendly pricing, if it exists, that is.

The OnePlus One ships out with a 5.5-inch touchscreen display and packs a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 501 processor fitted with 3GB of RAM and backed up by 16GB / 64GB of internal storage.

The smartphone has a removable back cover and OnePlus announced a series of special StyleSwap covers for it, including bamboo, wood, denim and Kevlar.

So we can’t help but wonder what a OnePlus tablet with a bamboo back would look like. We dare say, quite sleek.

Thus, OnePlus follows in Xiaomi’s steps, a Chinese mobile device maker that started out with smartphones too. But not so long, they put out their first tablet endeavor, the MiPad – a product that comes with advanced specs (Tegra K1, 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution) and a very affordable price-tag.

Now the question is whether this information will make you forget all about the MiPad and make you wait for the OnePlus Tab?

[Update]: Apparently the image was photoshopped, so sorry folks, no OnePlus tablet on the way.
