What better way to promote a huge phone concept?

One week sounds like little time to wait until the release of the iPhone. Apple stores are preparing for this much awaited launch in holiday style. They have decorated all their shops with giant iPhones, probably a lot larger than the phone concept will prove to be.

This new marketing flick is meant to focus people's attention on the future release of this smartphone. The huge iPhones are meant to increase the interest of potential phone customers, as if the large controversy that this device has generated over the last few months was not enough.

All these preparations increase the tension before the launch for the iPhone, especially after it has been for such a long time awaited by a large number of people. This is only another thing meant to bring into the spotlight what Apple's only smartphone has to offer.

The giant iPhones are all plastic and not regular card-board cuts, as it would have been more affordable to make. Apple seems to have spent some serious money on these large exhibit phones, but it must be worth it, as they expect sales to reach considerably high numbers in the future.

A previous report showed the fact that Apple leaders expect the iPhone to reach 45 million units in sales before 2009. That has very low chances of happening, no matter how optimistic we might be. Even more, recent studies have shown that only 10 percent of respondents are willing to buy such a mobile phone, due to its high cost and the fact that it will be available only at AT&T.

The truth about this mobile phone's real performances will come out only on its release day. The same goes for the data plan that iPhone will be available for, which will be unveiled only one day before the official release, on the 29th of June.
