How Verizon turned the F700 into U940

At the end of October, the mobile and gadgets web sites on the Internet started to follow some leads let by Samsung and Verizon. The rumor was about the Samsung's F700 model that needed FCC approval for a little change.

Since then, the change has been made and, now, the FCC shows up with a new version of the F700. It's called the U940 and comes with some slight changes, but some of them are not the best ones.

The new U940 features the CDMA, or more precisely "Code Division Multiple Access", which is basically the communication channel access principle that requires a spread-spectrum technology. Also, a special coding scheme is required, because each transmitter is assigned a single unique code.

The previous version of Samsung F700 had a 3 megapixel camera, whereas the new U940 gets only 2 megapixels. But that's about it regarding the bad changes. The new model features a friendly interface that, even if it gets to be slightly changed, it will be used more by the fingers of the user, than with the stylus that comes with it. The full Touch-Screen will have a resolution of 440 x 240 pixels and will feature a slide out QWERTY keyboard.

Now, we wonder when will the new model be launched. There are some rumors that we will have it by Christmas, but that's not sure at all. And if it shows before Christmas, then who will get it first? I ask myself that because the F700 has its launch exclusively to Vodafone, in UK.
