EXCELERAM launches a 2GB kit

It may very well be that the DDR2 random access memory is the most successful computer memory ever developed and produced at least when considering the huge number of systems that are based around it or the equally huge number of models that are now on the general market and available for purchase. As the number of computer systems and hardware platforms that are still supporting the DDR2 memory standard is very big, the new DDR3 RAM may find it difficult to gain an important market acceptance, even if it is pushed ahead by companies like Intel and OCZ.

A memory start up manufacturing company named EXCELERAM just announced the official launch of a new DDR2 random access memory that comes in the form of a dual channel kit with a capacity of 2GB and which is made using memory chips produced by the well established company Micron Technology, one of the most important RAM manufacturers in the whole world.

The EX2-21066M2-SY, as it is called the new DDR2 memory kit from EXCELERAM is coming with operating speeds of 1066Mhz as well as with latencies of 5 (CAS Latency), 5 (RAS to CAS Delay), 5 (RAS Precharge Time), 15 (Row Active Time), which can be considered pretty low timings, especially when the whole kit is drawing between 2.25 and 2.35 volts.

The new memory kit comes as two memory modules, each with a nominal capacity of 1024MB and each of them is also equipped with heatspreaders so a decent amount of overclocking should be possible if users choose to increase the based voltage to the 2.35V mark, or slightly above that mark. Apart from these features, the new DDR2 random access memory kit from EXCELERAM is now readily available from the HPM-Computer hardware specialized online store and it comes with a price tag of 154.9 Euro.
