Two pit bull dogs raged in a savage attack, killing one woman and injuring two men who tried to help her. The horrible incident occurred in Southeast Houston, Texas and just one of the raged dogs was caught, the other being still on the loose.

The 40-year-old woman was walking by when the two animals attacked her, putting her to the ground pulling at her body. One eyewitness noticed the whole event from the corner of the street and rushed to aid the petite woman, but was also knocked down by the raged dogs.

Osby Pineless, the 21-year-old who was heading to a local store at the moment of the attack, didn't manage to save the woman's life as the dogs turned on him while he was attempting to get them away from the victim. The animals started mauling him, causing injuries to his legs, arms and hands, leaving him in need of medical assistance.

The man's friend rushed to ask for help from houses nearby and was lucky enough to escape the attack with just a few minor injuries. When the animal control officers finally arrived, they only managed to seize one of the animals and are still looking for the second pit bull involved in the savage attack.

The dogs are believed to belong to a local resident, rumored to have been mistreating the animals by beating and starving them. The residence, featuring a “Beware of dogs” sign, was identified, but no one answered or claimed the animals still. The owner of the animals may face criminal charges and the fate of the dogs and of their owner will be set in a municipal hearing, according to Daily Mail.

Neighbors accused hearing and seeing the two dogs in that particular residence. The dog in custody was tested for rabies and is currently held in quarantine until the results are finalized. Most likely he will be euthanized in order to avoid any similar incidents.

Pit bulls are known for being violent dogs and, from the 32 dog attacks reported in 2013, 25 were because of this particular dog or a mixing of the breed. The dogs attack mainly when they are in pack because of a particular mentality that reinforces them while in the company of others.
