14 DAY TRIAL // One Direction has one of the most loyal and sizeable fanbases in the world. One Directioners can be, in some cases, also incredibly mean and aggressive – as bandmember Liam Payne found out after tweeting a photo of his new dog Loki.
Loki is almost impossibly cute, which totally explains why Liam wanted to share photos of him to his fans. What he did not anticipate was their harsh reaction.
As Metro can confirm, One Directioners wish Loki dead and they wish him so for a variety of reasons: because he happens to be Liam’s, because he happens to be Liam and his girlfriend’s, and because Liam now has another object of affection in his life.
As one (presumably female) Twitter user writes, if it wasn’t for Loki, Liam would love her.
“The dog is not going to see tomorrow if i can help it…u were supposed to come back for me liam,” she writes.
Another hates the dog for the simple reason that he exists: “I am outraged and appalled [expletive]-ing Loki the dog! That dog ain’t nothing but the scum on my shoe.”
Two other so-called fans even started an online debate on which would be the best way to kill Loki. “Let’s kill him! Gun? Knife?,” asks one, and another replies. “Knife! We don’t have guns.”
The same “fans” proposed the hashtag #dieloki and tried to get it trending on the social networking platform.
“I hate that moment when I’m really excited to read his tweet but instead I saw that dog aghhh #dieloki,” one user writes.
However, Loki didn’t prompt just vicious reactions of this type: in response to these trolls, true One Direction fans created a page for Loki to show their support, while others simply resumed themselves to congratulating Liam and his girlfriend on their new, totally adorable pet.
