Gaming is not dangerous, humans are.

I confess that there are a few things to compete with my passion for computer games. One of these things is that kind of person who thinks of himself that he was granted the authority to prohibit people like me to follow their passion. He believes that he may be my mentor without my approval, and teach me to live by his own vision about life. I am not going to point my finger at such a person. Alas, I am sure we all have such an acquaintance.

Usually, such an individual barely knows how to use a PC, and is always unable to discern what one is doing in front of a PC. They treat indiscriminately gamers and programmers as being irresponsible with their life, and even misanthropic and sexually retarded. From their point of view, the fact of spending your time with a computer is something terrible. We all feel that they should keep their sick ideas for themselves, as they haven't any idea about what level of intelligence is required to play a game, and what kind of satisfaction it brings. This is also one of our arguments against such an ill intentioned person and his attitude towards us.

A couple of years have past since I met my last nuisance. Still, it is hard to forget how bad I felt being deprived of the elementary right to seek happiness just because this meant computer gaming.

I live by the principle that as long as I do not harm anybody or I do not interfere with anyone's existence without permission, I may do anything I want or behave as I please. In short, I accept that where somebody else's freedom begins, mine ends. Because there are so many people out around, only a confined space remains for me to live as I see fit. However, I do not mind. I am happy with the size and traits of my impervious universe. Well, only as long as no one intrudes. Unfortunately, on this planet, mingling with someone else's life is the king and queen of sports.

While it is clear as daylight that there is no way one could join me in my life crusade - as even I find breathing a nuisance - there has always been an inflation of well-wishers ready to jump in my rescue. I do not need any rescue. I love my twisted wishes, and I work hard to bring them into my life. How is it possible for one to know what kind of help do I need without even asking? But, no! They succumb in their omniscience. How can I doubt of their great and holy words and their title of soul saviors?

I just want to play PC games. Is it much to ask? I do not bother anyone. I am only following my heart and I am trying to bring some happiness into my life. What is so wrong in this? Moreover, what are the chances that something like this may prejudice someone else's life? However, I heard so many times that "you are addicted to games, and you will destroy your life" bull-manure that it had become one with me. These people act as if my lifestyle was actually theirs. This is unbelievable! If I wanted demolitions to be my line of work when dealing with MY intimate life, so be it. Why bother, Woody?

Nothing stops them from playing with your life, playing with your worn mind and nerves, not even your material possessions won't escape their lust for "righteousness". You may shout in pain, engage them with your fists, and even cry for mercy, but the only thing powerful enough to dissuade them is your sight dried out of vitality.

While you are crumbling into the dust of sorrow, do not expect any excuses or remorse for their failure. From their point of view, they gave the best in their pursuit to bring justice and happiness into your world. It is your fault that their help was worthless. How could one not love their logic? Of course you did not want to be saved. There was nothing wrong with your life. Actually, you were contemplating your happiness when, a bunch of nutcases stormed into your life and stole everything for you pretending that the price for joy is never enough.

While some force their daughters to see males as some grim specie of "wild boar" just because their recklessness brought them into the tusks of a grotesque creature, we, gamers, have our own wall of obtuse minds to hit against our heads. I had the opportunity to confront such individuals early in my life. They struggled to convince - by any mean possible - computer games fans that gaming damages their health, their minds and their social lives.

Computer games do not damage anything, humans do. They always have. This is our way of life. Funny thing is that the harder one tries to respect everyone else's right to live freely, the more he attracts these intruders. I do not understand what is wrong with these people. All I know is that they certainly have an obsession for our joy, an obsession that leads them to violence and hatred. These so-called humans are not saviors - as they like to entitle themselves -, but psychiatric cases. And, they do not have any authority. We are free to refuse them. Firstly, because they haven't the faintest clue about what they are talking about, as they never played a single game. Secondly, because - as I said earlier - no one has the right to decide what values one should embrace and what kind of hobbies he should have, even if they have a malignant nature.
