Beside the slim ultra-zoom camera we've already talked about in a previous article, Olympus decided to also push onto the market two new additions to its VR Series, namely models VR-330 and VR-320, both of which built on the platform of the VR-310 model, introduced back in January, during CES 2011.

The two cameras come equipped with a 12.5x super wide 24-300mm optical zoom lens, accompanied by a 14-megapixel sensor, which is quite a serious achievement, given the fact that they're just 19.3mm thick.

Furthermore, the two compact imagers sport Dual Image Stabilization, designed to provide a higher level of stabilization, as well as i-Auto and Shadow Adjustment Technology that automatically choose the right settings, in order to allow user to take good-quality photos regardless of the outside conditions.

Moreover, users can also choose from the seven Magic Filters, for enhanced creativity, and the two cameras both sport rechargeable Li-Ion batteries, employing USB for the charging process.

The Olympus VR-330 also comes equipped with a 3-inch colour LCD (460,000 dots) for easily framing, reviewing and sharing shots, as well as a HDMI output / control for a one-cable connection to an HDTV, while in the same time supporting 3D photo shooting.

The VR-320, on the other hand, also sports a 3-inch display, but with a lower resolution, of just around 230,400 dots.

“The Olympus VR-320 is the perfect mix of power and portability,” said Jennifer Schmell, product manager, Olympus Imaging America Inc.

“Its wide-angle zoom lens captures all the action from close-ups to distant objects, while other features like HD video and Magic Art Filters ensure that consumers can truly capture it all,” the company's rep concluded.

Both cameras will be available from February 2011 and will be priced at 159.99 and 139.99 pounds sterling, respectively (or roughly 257.88 and 225.64 US dollars, respectively).
