Like so many others, Olympus is attending Photokina, which means that it has an entire bunch of devices on display.

The PEN E-PL5 and the PEN E-PM2 are mirrorless cameras based on the OM-D E-M5 Micro Four Thirds camera but have compact frames, 16.1-megapixel image sensors, light sensitivity of 200 to 25,600 ISO and 3-inch touchscreens.

They can snap photos in burst mode at 8 fps, and Full HD video (1080p) with improved noise reduction.

The only unusual feature is the “Water Color” filter, which transforms photos into “drawings” made with water colors.

Finally, FlashAir lets photos be shared with smartphones and social networking sites (apparently over Wi-Fi).

October is when sales will star, for $549.99 / 549.99 Euro (E-PM2) and $649.99 / 649.99 Euro (E-PL5). The former lacks dedicated PASM wheel, a tilting touchscreen and removable grip.
