Though she’s younger than him by 3 years, Olivia Wilde of “House M.D.” and singer turned actor Justin Timberlake will play mother and son in an upcoming sci-fi film.

As E! Online informs, the “Alpha Dog” co-stars will reunite on the big screen in a yet untitled project about a world in the future where people stop aging at a very young age.

This, of course, explains how she can play his mother, especially since she’s younger than him by 3 years.

“A source close to the production has confirmed that Alpha Dog costars have been cast in a new thriller directed by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca) in which 26-year-old Wilde will play Timberlake’s mother,” E! reports.

“The still-untitled film takes place in a society where people stop aging at 25, and time, not money, is the currency,” the same e-zine writes about the plot of the film.

Timberlake and Wilde are not the only stars to appear in the sci-fi film (which sounds quite interesting, actually), E! further informs.

“Timberlake and Wilde will star alongside Amanda Seyfried, and 31-year-old Mad Men star Vincent Karthesier, who plays Seyfried’s father,” says E!.

While an official announcement regarding the film is yet to come, the report seems to confirm what Justin has been saying as of late, namely that fans should not hold their breath for a new pop album.

Timberlake can now be seen in the recently released “The Social Network” (which took over the North American box office over the weekend) and, it seems, making movies is what he wants from life right now because he’s putting music on hold.

“I’ll know when I know. And until I know, I don’t know. I just don’t know [in] what capacity I want to be involved [in music] any more,” Justin said last week about his pop career, as cited by the Guardian.

Making pop music, it seems, has to come from inspiration, it’s not something he can will whenever he wants to.

“Does a painter make a painting because he has to make it by 21 December? No, he doesn’t. It happens when it pours out of him. That’s how music is for me,” JT also said.
