Believe it or not, the MicroDot Squared audio recorder is said to be world's smallest voice activated digital recorder ever made. It measures 12 x 35 x 17 inches and is 0.47 x 1.37 x 0.67 thick. For safety issues, the recorded data can be password protected.

Besides looking just about the size of a nail, it can actually perform some really impressive stuff, such as recording up to 18 hours at a time onto the 128MB of internal memory it was packed with. Even if the USB rechargeable battery is said to last for 60 hours in record mode, there is still no extra minute for the already mentioned recording time.

In addition, the tiny device can even embed date and time stamps to all the recording it does, not to mention the manufacturers have also added a useful programmable timer for the recordings the owner wants to schedule. To make the gadget even more appealing, the guys behind it say you'll need a magnifying glass just to notice it.

As it is said to feature the revolutionary VAS option, the Microdot Squared will not start its recording process unless there is no sound before recording, to help the user save recording time. Which makes me think it might actually be a little bit tricky to record a basketball game from the crowd.

Another great thing when using this recorder is the fact that when you are downloading the content to your personal PC via a USB port, you can tell the Microdot to download with or without sound space between voices and also download the evidence with time and date stamping on. And hey, it only has one button, so using it is piece of cake. If you really want one of these, you should start saving about 500 bucks.
