Technicians in charge of monitoring the turbines are expected to live in these apartments

The business of harvesting offshore wind energy has really taken off over these past few years.

The problem is that, the more offshore wind turbines are installed, the harder it is for technicians to keep a close eye on them and repair them when necessary.

Besides, as the number of such offshore farms continues to increase, so does the number of wind turbine technicians needed to monitor them.

Needless to say, transporting these technicians to one wind farm or the other often proves a bit of a hassle.

Architects at Morphocode, a studio based in Sofia, Bulgaria, believe these problems could easily be dealt with should the offshore wind turbines of the future house apartments inside their nacelles.

According to Tree Hugger, technicians in charge of overseeing the wind turbines would be the ones living in these apartments.

“Wind turbine loft is a solution that combines living and working environment in a single entity of an unusual atmosphere,” Morphocode explains its Wind Turbine Loft concept.

Provided that engineers manage to somehow fit an apartment inside the nacelle of a wind turbine at some point in the future, I'm pretty sure it'll only be a matter of time before ordinary folks will want to move in such residences themselves.
