The official Twitter account of the Walsall Football Club (@WFCOfficial), an English team that currently plays in League One, has been hacked.

“WALSALL FC would like to apologise for some unsavoury comments which appeared on our Official Twitter feed earlier this evening after the account was hacked,” Walsall FC stated on Facebook and Twitter after it recovered the hijacked account.

The account was hacked shortly after Walsall won a match against the Wolves. The tweet published by the attacker was addressed to the official Twitter account of the Wolves.

The hacker posted the following message: “@OfficialWolves Better look next time you six fingered, inbred, dingle bastards. YOU”VE LET US DOWN AGAIN!!!!!! @VitalWalsall @BescotBanter”

@VitalWalsall and @BescotBanter are the Twitter accounts of two websites that provide news on Walsall FC.
