Summit Entertainment releases official tracklisting for “New Moon” soundtrack

“New Moon,” the second installment in “The Twilight Saga,” dealing with the forbidden love story between a vampire, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), is set for release on November 20. Fans who have already placed preorders for the “New Moon” official soundtrack, as well as those waiting for the release of the film, have now one thing less to worry about as the official tracklisting has been revealed, MTV confirms.

The tracks that would make the cut for the “New Moon” soundtrack have been subject to much speculations, especially since Summit Entertainment, the movie studio behind the hit franchise, made it a point of keeping everyone in the dark – and that included the artists contacted for it. The only official piece of news on the soundtrack was that Death Cab for Cutie would be featured on it with “Meet Me on the Equinox” and, of course, it is the leading track on the official tracklisting, which also includes as follows:

- Death Cab for Cutie – “Meet Me on the Equinox” - Band of Skulls – “Friends” - Thom Yorke – “Hearing Damage” - Lykke Li – “Possibility” - The Killers – “A White Demon Love Song” - Anya Marina – “Satellite Heart” - Muse – “I Belong to You (New Moon)” - Bon Iver & St. Vincent – “Rosyln” - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – “Done All Wrong” - Hurricane Bells – “Monsters” - Sea Wolf – “The Violent Hour” - OK Go – “Shooting the Moon” - Grizzly Bear – “Slow Life” - Editors – “No Sound but the Wind” - Alexandre Desplat – “New Moon (The Meadow)”

In other “New Moon” related news, early reports show that anticipation for the second film is higher than expected, even judging by the success of “Twilight.” Presale tickets for midnight premiere shows have all sold out, and demand is increasing by the day, despite the fact that there still are many weeks to go until the movie drops in theaters, as we were also telling you at the end of last week.

“Online ticket sellers MovieTickets and Fandango report that the follow-up to last year’s hit from Summit Entertainment, which sold $191.5 million worth of tickets in the US and Canada, is selling out screenings earlier than any other movie to date. ‘New Moon’ has sold out 50 showtimes of nearly 22,000 offered on Fandango and 13 showtimes of 2,912 offered on MovieTickets. Most of the sold-out shows are at or around midnight Nov. 20, when the movie debuts.” Twilight Lexicon was saying a short while back, citing numbers provided by LA Times.
