Earlier today I told you that Sony launched the A7S camera which bundles 4K capabilities. But the company also rolled out the first sample video, showing perspective customers what this device will be capable of doing.

The new A7S is said to be world’s smallest full-frame interchangeable lens camera, which comes bundled with a newly developed, wide dynamic range sensor that boasts high sensitivity.

The camera supports an ISO range of 50 to 409,600 and bundles a 12.2-megapixxel full-frame sensor that limits downscaling with 3,840 x 2,160 (QFHD) 4K video.

1080p video can be stored internally, but users will need an external recorder to capture 4K video, which the camera will output with 4:2:2 color sampling via HDMI.

Physically, the A7s looks pretty similar to the other members of the Alpha family. The camera comes equipped with Wi-Fi, NFC and can do wireless transfers to a smartphone or tablet.

Sony hasn't mentioned anything about pricing but judging by the configuration, the camera should go on sale for around $2,300 / €1,677.

On top of the A7S, Sony has also made an announcement regarding an XLR mic kit and 28-135 f4 FE-mount lens which are under development and will be made available in the near future.
