Far more complex than previous games...

It looks like Apple has definitely been looking after the gaming potential of the iPod recently. After news of upcoming games for EA, Gameloft's "Lost" has unexpectedly made its appearance in the selection of games. Unlike the previous games that were simpler, in Lost, you join your favorite castaways in their quest to seek the truth and survive. The official iPod game of the hit television series Lost has the player help Jack search for dynamite, tend to the wounded, and avoid the black smoke. Players will get to relive the crash scene, open the hatch, and ultimately try their best to escape from the Others.

Seeing one of Gameloft's games on the iPod is a good sign for gaming enthusiasts, as the company is well known for their many popular handheld games. Though originally designed for mobile phones, these games can easily be adapted to iPod controls thus opening up a large collection of potential titles.

This latest iPod game is exceptional, not only because of its appeal to fans of the TV show, but also because it is far more complex than the previous games that, for the most part, were the 2007 equivalent of the arcade classics. The game features: ■ Storyline created by the writers behind the series ■ Play as Jack and interact with other main characters of the series, including Kate, Locke and Sayid ■ Faithfully reproduced settings, intuitive and extremely varied gameplay ■ Explore the island's main sites including the beach, jungle, Hatch, and the Black Rock ■ Relive eventful moments including the crash scene, running from black smoke, and meeting the Others ■ Multitude of challenges including exploration, hunting, helping wounded, and searching for dynamite

With luck, the game won't pause halfway through and make the player wait 13 weeks before letting them continue.
