When I first saw the title I thought, "what has someone's remixed Jean Michel Jarre's work or something?" but then when I saw EverQuest II Rise of Kunark in there I realized it wasn't about music, but about my favorite topic in the whole wide world: video games. Yes, it comes just a little bit after girls. I know, I'm a freak. OK, apparently EQuinox pre-orders are now accepted. Those who do pre-order are said to receive a Rise of Kunark Beta invite.

Now I've got your attention. As the official report goes, the first official print magazine entirely dedicated to EverQuest II, its players, creators and community is available for pre-order today! Available for purchase exclusively through the Station Store, EQuinox is 68 pages of glossy, full-color news, interviews, features, columns, previews, fan fiction, original content and in-depth guides to life in EQII, helping you maximize your playing potential. Produced by a dedicated team of writers and designers from within the EQII community and beyond, EQuinox is the only official EQII print magazine and is created in full cooperation with the developers of EQII at Sony Online Entertainment.

As far as the Rise of Kunark Beta invite... there's an itsy bitsy tiny catch. Oh don't be angry, you'll soon find out that it's in your best interest. The reports says: to celebrate the impending release of the EQuinox magazine, SOE is offering, with the valid pre-order of the EQuinox magazine, an invitation* (yes, there's a little star there) to the beta program for EverQuest II Rise of Kunark--the highly anticipated fourth expansion pack. By pre-ordering the EQuinox magazine, subject to the terms and conditions listed below, you are automatically registered for entry into the beta program and will have the chance to play the expansion before its commercial release. Pre-orders for EQuinox are scheduled to end at 11:59 PM PDT August 8th, 2007**.

The second term has something to do with the fact that SOE may change that date to their liking, but we knew that already. OK, the catch was...:

*Terms and conditions may apply, including having already separately purchased and installed the EverQuest II full game software, acceptance of the EverQuest II Rise of Kunark Beta Program Terms of Use and Non-Disclosure Agreement and having valid, current and active EverQuest II and Station accounts and beta program registration. So you see, it's all to your own benefit. You just have to own the game.

Here's what you'll mainly be getting with Equinox:

■ 68 pages of high quality EQII-dedicated content ■ Exclusive developer interviews, content and insider information ■ Previews of upcoming events and reviews of the latest events to hit the world of Norrath ■ 16 page Artisan section for all your crafting needs ■ Original new fan fiction by some of the most passionate writers in the EQII community ■ Guild advertising - use the pages of EQuinox to recruit players to your in-game guilds ■ Information on community events, updates on contests and future EQII products and services

EverQuest II is rated by the ESRB T for Teen with Suggestive Themes, alcohol violence... bla, bla, bla, we all know what that involves. The mag should reflect the game so... attractive isn't it?
