Aside from the three beta 2 version announced by Microsoft at WinHEC, the software behemoth came with another piece of interesting news for the latest Office suite, scheduled for release in January 2007.

Microsoft said that, just like Vista, Office 2007 will also have an Ultimate edition, that will include all the latest office applications made by the Redmond company.

Office 2007 Ultimate will include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, together with Microsoft Publisher, OneNote, InfoPath, Access and the new Groove suite and will have a price tag of $679. Basically, the new version will contain the same apps like Office 2007 Enterprise, the only difference being that this one will be available to all users, not just for large enterprises.

Microsoft Office Standard 2007 will include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and will have a retail price of $399; the upgrade version will cost $239.

However, the software giant also announced the Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 edition, available for $149, which will contain the same applications as Office Standard 2007, except for Outlook. Instead of it, Microsoft has included Office OneNote.

Windows Vista Ultimate will include all the features contained by the other editions, the most important being Virtual PC Express, Windows BitLocker Drive Encryption, the subsystem for UNIX-based applications, the Windows Tablet PC technology and Windows Media Center.
