Video game developer EA Sports is announcing that Odell Beckham Jr. is the cover athlete for Madden NFL 16 and is offering the first look at the image it has designed around the player, showing him mid-action and reaching for the football.

The decision was made by the fan community for the series, which had the chance to vote using the Ultimate Team mode in Madden NFL 15.

Odell Beckham Jr. is a solid playmaker who has managed to deliver one of the most impressive catches of the previous season against the Dallas Cowboys.

In his rookie season for the New York Giants, the player has managed to cover 1,300 yards and generated 12 touchdowns.

He has defeated Rob Gronkowski in the vote for the cover of Madden NFL 16.

Randy Chase, the senior director of marketing for EA Sports, states, "Odell Beckham Jr. is a true playmaker and a perfect fit for this year’s game. He’s an unstoppable force out on the field, and the Madden NFL 16 cover is further vindication that the fans believe he’s a player to watch in the coming years."

The studio is also offering a first look at the gameplay of Madden NFL 16 in a new video, which focuses on the new gameplay elements and the Air Supremacy system.

Madden NFL 16 will arrive on August 25 on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4

The new American football title is set to introduce a range of new mechanics for veterans to get accustomed to, with details about them set to arrive during the summer.

All those interested in Madden NFL 16 can place a pre-order right now and will get access to extra content for the Ultimate Team mode, with 10 Pro Packs and a Playmaker Pack designed to give them extra options when they create their line-up.

A Deluxe Edition offers even more with 36 Pro Packs and the aforementioned Playmaker Pack.

EA Sports has previously mentioned that it will enhance the presentation of Madden NFL 16 with more motion capture for players and other officials.

The studio will continue to support the previous installment in the series with new content in the coming months, even as it delivers more info on the new title.
