Photos taken inside Nadya Suleman's squalid house emerged online the other day, clearly suggesting her 14 children were being grossly neglected. She was set up, she says in a new interview with ABC, meant to defend herself publicly once more.

At the same time, as the video below will confirm, Suleman reveals that she's receiving twice as much money from the state than previously hinted, to the tune of $5,000 (€3,792.1) a month.

For a while, Octomom's name ceased making headlines – until word got out that she and the kids were back on food stamps, i.e. living off taxpayers' money.

The scandal peaked the other day, when her hairstylist told the police and the press Suleman had paid her $520 (€394.3) for a blow dry, when her kids would go on portable toilets in the backyard because the plumbing was shot – and when she was receiving handouts from the State of California.

Suleman sat down with ABC to speak on the latest accusations. For starters, she says she's getting more money as assistance than she initially revealed.

She also insists none of the claims printed in the press is real: her children are not neglected and they're certainly not living in squalor.

Suleman explains why they had to go potty in the backyard, stresses that she didn't lock her children in one room (she was merely trying to prevent them from going inside another room), but she doesn't say anything about why they're sleeping on the floor or why there's graffiti on every wall inside her home.

“I think maybe me and my kids were set up. We were set up,” Octomom says of the photos that leaked in the press and the visit she got from authorities to investigate a possible case of child neglect.

As for going back on welfare, she has just one thing to say: “I have to eat my words. You know what, we're human beings. We're all entitled to change our mind.”

Though she and the kids will probably be evicted shortly from the house for not paying rent, Suleman says she does work and that she uses the money she makes to provide for the children.

“I've been using the media to pay the bills. Any offer, now, is to take care of my kids,” she explains.

“I hate Octomom. I want to take a sledge hammer and crack her in half. That is some freak that they created in the media. I need it to be done. Done,” Suleman adds.

She also says this is the last month she'll be receiving food stamps.
