The Ascend G750 that has just been officially introduced in India was launched on the market in late 2013. However, the smartphone was known as Honor 3X, though in India it will sell as Huawei Ascend G750.

According to fonearena, Huawei Ascend G750 will be available for purchase for no less than Rs 24,999 outright, which is about $420 or €305.

The price tag may be high for an emerging market such as India, but let’s not forget that Huawei Ascend G750 was one of the first Android smartphones to hit shelves with an octa-core processor inside.

For those unfamiliar with the Ascend G750’s specs, the smartphone has an octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor, which is complemented by a Mali450-MP4 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

Potential customers will be pleased to know that the handset also offers dual-SIM capability with dual standby support. Huawei Ascend G750 packs only 8GB of internal memory, but users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

The bad news is that the high-end smartphone ships with an old version of Android, namely Jelly Bean 4.2. It would have been understandable if it had been powered by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, since Google announced KitKat only a few months ahead of the smartphone’s release on the market.

Unfortunately, the Chinese handset maker chose to include a much older version of Android, which puts the Ascend G750 into the mid-range category of Android smartphones. It is also worth mentioning that the device also comes with Huawei’s innovative Emotion UI 2.0 on top of Android.

On a more positive note, the Ascend G750 boasts an impressive 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. It also sports an enhanced 13-megapixel rear-facing camera which features LED flash, autofocus, Sony BSI sensor with f/2.2 aperture and full HD (1080p) video recording.

In the front, there’s a no less impressive 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies, which features 2mm wide angle lens and 1.4um sensor.

Connectivity-wise, the Ascend G750 offers all the standard features included in an Android smartphone, such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS with A-GPS support. Last but not least, Huawei Ascend G750 drains energy from a high-capacity 3000 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

The smartphone is expected to go on sale in the next couple of days, possibly in both white and black color options. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
