The pets were so well fed their fatty reserves kept them going for days on end

Whilst some people abuse their pets, others look after them a bit too much, and often cause them to become obese by overfeeding them.

This is precisely what happened to a pair of British cats from Walsall, England, which managed to survive for about a month after their owner passed away, relying on nothing else but their fatty reserves.

Apparently, their elderly owner died without anyone knowing anything about it, so these felines had to fend for themselves until worried neighbors decided that it might be best to call the authorities, primarily because of the smell coming from the household in which these two cats lived.

What is even more interesting is that, although they had been fasting for about four weeks, Roly Poly and Pudding still weighed more than your average cat when they were rescued, sources report.

This may be pure speculation, but it seems to us that if one puts together the names of these two cats, one gets the name of one very popular children's book written by Beatrix Potter: "The Tale of Samuel Whiskers or The Roly Poly Pudding."
