Poll shows large broods and camera crews are not desirable

Coming to answer the question some of us may have asked ourselves when fantasizing about winning the lotto and being able to move in a fabulous residence complex where we’d get to pick our neighbors, a new poll reveals the Obamas would be Americans’ first choice in this respect. At the opposite poll are reality stars, Kate Gosselin and Nadya Suleman in particular, TV Yahoo! says citing a Reuters report.

What worked against the two television stars in the poll conducted online was both the fact that they had too many children (eight for Mrs. Gosselin and 14 for Suleman “OctoMom”) and that they were constantly followed around by cameras. On the other hand, living next to the Obamas would be bliss because they keep to themselves and seem a very nice family. The same goes for Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi, the poll has revealed.

“Americans would most like to live next door to the Obama family. But a reality star like California’s ‘OctoMom,’ or Jon and Kate Gosselin and their brood of eight would be a big turn off, according to a poll released on Tuesday. President Barack Obama, his wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha, came top of a poll that asked Americans who would be their most desirable celebrity neighbor.” Yahoo! says of the poll.

“Americans have made it clear that they think politicians and talk show hosts make the best neighbors. Apparently Americans are opposed to living next door to a brood of young children, particularly those that come with a television crew and paparazzi,” Amy Bohutinsky, Zillow.com vice president of communications, says for the same publication. Zillow.com commissioned the poll.

Also a bad neighbor would be politician Sarah Palin, who has five children of her own, but her being voted as the third worst neighbor has more to do with her being able to polarize Americans than with her family per se, Yahoo! concludes.
