President Barack Obama has made an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," and the hottest topic of discussion was NSA surveillance of US civilians.

This is Obama's sixth time on the show, and the fourth time he has been on air during the late night program since being elected President. He has also been on "The Late Show With David Letterman," USA Today mentions.

He discussed not only the National Security Agency surveillance programs, but also healthcare and dealing with terrorist situations.

He has denied the existence of a "domestic spying program" but has stressed that the NSA does conduct surveillance on individuals considered terrorist threats.

There are "mechanisms that can track a phone number or an e-mail address that is connected to a terrorist attack. [...] That information is useful," he says.
