When news emerged that the Gallagher bothers, Liam and Noel, had finally put their differences aside and gotten back in touch after years of squabbling, fans immediately jumped to the conclusion that they were also going to bring back their band, Oasis.

So far, this has not happened, and in fact, both brothers confessed that they didn't have any such plans at the moment. However, a new rumor is hovering online these day that Oasis will be coming back to play the Glastonbury Festival next year.

Glastobury Chief claims he's got the boys all lined up for the 2015 festival

The report is caused by a hint dropped by Glastonbury chief Michael Eavis, who claimed that he was very close to signing the brothers to headline the festival next year. Since the boys no longer have separate bands, it only stands to reason that he was referring to Oasis, ergo Oasis is coming back, folks.

The 79-year-old Eavis is quoted by Mirror as saying, “I do talk to Noel and Liam a lot. Wouldn’t it be marvellous for them to relaunch at Glastonbury, now Liam has split from Beady Eye?”

This would be a very important move that has been awaited by fans for years, ever since the band mysteriously split up before one concert that caused the brothers to never speak to one another in a very long time.

It's still not clear if Oasis is coming back together at this point

Earlier this year, there was a rumor that Oasis was reforming as some mysterious trailers popped up on the band's official Instagram account. Apart from a montage of images of the brothers in concert, the teaser also had a date attached to it, and fans wanted to believe it was the day the band would be coming back together.

It was not. Instead, it turned out to be actually just a release of an anniversary version of the group's debut album “Definitely Maybe.” Needless to say, fans were disappointed. They were hoping that the boys would put aside their differences that peaked on August 28, 2009, when Liam broke Noel's guitar right before a performance and stormed out.

The Gallaghers have been eyed by many for a possible reunion. Roger Daltrey, the former frontman for The Who, promised fans that he would bring the two brothers together on stage for the Teenager Cancer Trust Charity in 2015, claiming that “blood is much thicker than music,” but he just might have been beaten to the punch by the Glastonbury chief.
