Sprint's customers who own a BlackBerry Curve 8330 or Pearl 8130 have now a reason to rejoice, as the carrier has finally unveiled the official version of 4.5 OS for their devices and posted it on its site. One nice feature that the new update brings is the ability to send and receive MMS via the smartphone.

The functionality has been long expected to come along with the official release of OS 4.5 on the company's website, and now that the OS 4.5.0.131 is here, all those previous rumors have finally proved true. Unfortunately for some, no good news for 8830 users this time, but it might come in the near future.

As for the goodies the new OS 4.5.0.131 brings along, the list includes a Refreshed Look, meaning that users will be able to enjoy messages, address book entries and a calendar that uses colors and fonts better than before. At the same time, it is stated to better match the programs customers use on their computers.

The Email Layout (Rich HTML Email) has also been improved, including the view of tables, images and fonts with new formatting. The update also brings Remote Search, enabling users to find easy and fast emails stored on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint Files can now be edited, while a Save Time as You Type feature has been included through the Word completion for SureType keyboards, which present a list of options to scroll through so that users won't have to type the whole word.

Users are now able to perform local searches on their device, such as a list of close pizza places. The Music Management has been improved as well, users being able to see all music files or filter them by artist, album or genre, while also having the possibility to create and edit playlists. The Free/Busy Lookup feature allows them to view their colleagues’ calendars on the smartphone.

Those willing to try out the new OS 4.5.0.131 can find it here.
