We reported last week on the upcoming availability of the budget-friendly Oppo Neo Android smartphone in India, and now it looks like the device is up for grabs.

According to Gizbot, Oppo Neo can be purchased via brick and mortar stores for only Rs 11,990 ($190 / €140) outright. Although the price might seem low, there are other devices in the same price range that offer much better features.

One such example is the recently launched Motorola Moto G, which has already been sold out at Flipkart. The only downside of the Moto G over the Oppo Neo might be the fact that the former lacks microSD card slot.

Anyway, back to Oppo Neo, the smartphone ships with ColorOS, which is based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Nothing impressive here; on the contrary, if we are to compare it to the Moto G, which comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and is likely to get KitKat soon, then the Oppo Neo loses badly.

Hardware-wise, the Indian version of Oppo Neo is equipped with a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3GHz, as well as 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. Users will also be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

On the back, Oppo Neo packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus and video recording, but without LED flash. It also features a 2-megapxiel secondary camera in the front for video calls.

Oppo Neo has also been confirmed to sport a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution.

Other highlights of the smartphone include: HSPA+ and HSUPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, along with GPS and A-GPS support, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, as well a 1900 mAh battery that has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
