The Sunnyvale company Yahoo rolled out omg!, a special service that shows hot content from the celebrities' lives. As you expected, the product is based on the latest news, photos and video content concerning Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson and other famous stars from Hollywood.

"Yahoo! Entertainment is launching this destination for fun entertainment news and scoop so peeps can complement their daily celebrity blog fix (c'mon, we know where you're surfing everyday) with a site that's easy to use, well-designed, and not so super-mean," Sibyl Goldman, Executive Producer, Yahoo! Entertainment, said today.

It seems that the service is still in early testing stages as it doesn't offer a considerable amount of content, but the giant portal plans to improve the solution in the upcoming months.

"omg! is very much a work in progress, but since the appetite for this kind of news continues to surge, we wanted to launch the site as soon as possible. We have an aggressive plan for adding in even more excellent Yahoo! products in the coming months. Think Bix, Flickr and Messenger. And check back soon for our badge," the same Yahoo employee added.

Yahoo was quite reticent in the recent period because the activity of the company was dominated by the closure of numerous solutions owned by the giant portal. It all began with the closure of Yahoo Photos, the web-based photo sharing service that allowed users to publish their images and share them with other Internet users. The transition has already started as all the users must be transferred to Flickr, the product that replaces Yahoo Photos.

It continued with Yahoo Auctions that will also be closed by the parent company as the giant portal considers that most of the features can be implemented into another Yahoo solution.
