Your 3.6 GHz processor is literally hot. Help it chill down.

OCZ's Vendetta is a high capacity ventilation system to feature heatpipes. Perfectly fit for both AMD and Intel chips, the new cooler from OCZ is committed to cooling your powerhorse down. The design may seem a little strange when compared to other cooling solutions, but in terms of efficiency, there is no doubt about it: the Vendetta knows how to deal with challenges.

The producers know its true value and package it like a larger Easter egg: the solid box hides the cooler wrapped in a thick layer of foam. After all, a bent or broken cooler would be useless, right?

Vendetta is multi-processor, multi-socket compatible: it supports Intel's socket 775 processors, as well as all recent AMD sockets (AM2, 754, 939 and AM2+). Socket A processors are not supported, and we strongly doubt that any of them would heat that much to benefit from a Vendetta; it would be as if you'd kill an ant with a nuclear bomb.

The OCZ cooling solution is extremely fit and can be squeezed easily into a motherboard with high chipset heatsinks. Small form factor cases won't give you any hassle, either. The assembled cooler is 97(L) x 79(W) x 134(H) millimeters, so before thinking of buying it, you would probably like to make sure that you have enough space around your processor.

OCZ has taken a bold and unconventional approach at designing the cooler. Unlike the classic high-performance coolers that interface with the processor with a copper plate interleaving the heatpipes, Vendetta's all three copper heatpipes rest directly on the CPU, which dramatically improves thermal transfer from the processor to the aluminum fins. Speaking of fins, they are oriented horizontally and are bent at the middle in a smooth V, that also gives its name.

The V design has been also chosen because the fan comes into contact with a much larger surface than any other design. The cooler is part of the new series developed by OCZ and runs extremely quiet even under high load, but setting it on maximum RPM would remind you that the Vendetta is, after all, just a cooler. The cooling solution can be purchased via retailers' network and is priced around $30.
