OCZ is reportedly preparing to launch a 1TB version of the company’s well-known Octane SSD product line. The new SSD uses 25 nm MLC NAND flash, and comes with a 512 MB of DRAM cache.

The highest capacity Octane consumer SSD is called OCT1-25SAT3-1T.

The drive is built in the 2.5-inch form-factor with SATA III interface, and provides 1 TB of unformatted capacity.

It will provide sequential transfer speeds of up to 460 MB/s when reading and 330 MB/s when writing.

The 4K read/write random access performance can be up to 24,000 IOPS and 32,000 IOPS.

This is a full featured consumer SSD with TRIM, NCQ, ECC, and 256-bit AES data-encryption available.

The OCT1-25SAT3-1T  is slated for mid-May, but the Octane 1 TB by OCZ won't fit the budget too easy.
