They are high-performance consumer solid state drives

The Vertex line of solid state drives is one that OCZ made for consumers that don't mind spending lots of money in exchange for performance.

It doesn't hurt that capacities aren't as low as they were half a decade ago.

The company is almost ready to introduce the fifth generation of Vertex solid state drives.

Or maybe that's a bit of a stretch. They will only start shipping at the end of May after all, according to NordicHardware.

They have capacities of 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB, and should become the best of OCZ's lineup, taking the flagship title away from the Vector series.

No word on what controller or storage chips will be used, but they are probably a Barefoot IC and 20 nm MLC NAND (multi-level cell).
