Don't want to wake up the neighbors now, do we?

One of the companies that have a thing for new fields and new domains in which to expand their expertise is OCZ Technology. They are best known for their memory modules; basically, it?s what made them who they are today. But they have also began outsourcing and researching for new expansion possibilities, one of which being the power supply area.

After taking on Corsair?s DOMINATOR series of memory modules with their liquid cooled memory and giving a helping hand for PC modders with their specially designed power supplies, OCZ is now taking another path, the one of silence. To back up their statements with some solid facts, they have released a new series of power supplies, the StealthXStream series, which are specially designed for ?performance, quality and quiet operation?.

The power supply from these series comes with a 1200mm fan, a 600W configuration, support for ATX 12V v2.2 and EPS 12V, a 83% efficiency when connected at 230V power grid, and 80% efficiency for a 110V power grid. The manufacturer also states that the power supply has 100.000 hours MTBF, and for those power hungry components, it also comes with four +12V rails, each measuring 18A. We also find it has one 20+4 pin ATX connector, 1x 4/8-pin CPU connector, 2x6-pin PCI-Express, 6x4-pin molex, 2x4-pin floppy and 6 x Serial ATA connectors. If you are having problems with the power supply, OCZ offers three year warranty through their PowerSwap program.

Alex Mei, Executive VP, OCZ Technology Group said: ?Fueled by the requests from gamers for a high performance yet aggressively priced PSU, our engineers developed the new StealthXStream PSU. The new StealthXStream is designed with all of the features that gamers asked for including an ultra quiet fan, a high quality core that is very efficient and able to power serious components, Active PFC, and plenty of connectors to support future upgrades. When it comes to the perfect balance of performance, features, and value the SXS is a true Best-in-Class solution.?
