Mobile phone carrier O2 UK has just announced the launch of a new range of flexible Pay Monthly tariffs, offering its customers expanded choice of data allowances, along with inclusive Internet Tethering, which comes to them for the first time.

The new plans are available for both new and upgrading customers, the wireless carrier announced, adding that they focused on making these plans simple and flexible.

Thus, the carrier does not bundle minutes, texts and MBs of data in a single package, but would offer users the possibility to tailor their own tariff to suit their needs.

To do so, users can:

Step 1: Pick your handset (or choose to keep your old one) and contract length Step 2: Pick your minutes and text allowance Step 3: Choose how much data (web on your phone) you want to use

Basically, this would involve a series of changes in the carrier's pricing, but only new or upgrading customers would be affected by the move, it seems.

“70% of all our new customers choose a smartphone to enjoy the Internet on their phone, so we know how important data is,” the wireless carrier notes.

“We’ve introduced more choice by continuing to offer as much as 1GB per month for our heaviest users, and by adding a 100MB data allowance for those customers who just want to send a few emails.”

Those users who need 500MB or more each month would benefit from 20 MMS with their allowance, which would be worth around £4.

At the same time, the wireless carrier added Internet Tethering into the mix, enabling its customers to use their mobile phones as a modem to connect a computer to the Internet.

The feature has been completely included in the carrier's data allowances, which means that users can enjoy it without having to pay extra for it. This would add £7.65 extra value to the tariff.

On top of that, the wireless services provider announced that it introduced 12-month contracts for its existing customers, which would enable them to benefit from new handsets earlier than before.

“If you’re not sure which tariff to pick, check out the full tariff table on our website or pop in to an O2 store and speak to an O2 Guru, who will help you decide what will suit you best. Let us know what you think or if you have any questions about our new tariffs,” the carrier concludes.
