After being approved by the Federal Communications Commission a while ago, O2 Graphite proves that you will not have to wait long until more news about FCC approved phones hit the surface.

A special section devoted to the Graphite has already appeared on the O2 Asia site. O2 Graphite is one of the mobile phones that mobile operator O2 prepared to launch in the beginning of 2007. The mobile phone is being manufactured by Asus and the spec sheet hasn't really gone through any changes compared to the information provided before.

The Graphite's design is very similar, or one could say almost the same as in the case of Vodafone VDA IV, which is no surprise considering the fact that they are both manufactured by Asus, the main difference being that O2's Graphite packs more advanced features.

It comes equipped with an Intel XScale PXA 270 416 MHz processor, 64MB RAM and 128 MB ROM, a 2 megapixel camera and a VGA camera in front for video calling purposes, a 2.2 inch display with a 240 x 320 pixel (QVGA) resolution and tri-band GSM/GPRS and 3G UTMS network supports.

The Windows Mobile 5.0 powered Graphite also packs Bluetooth and 802.11b/g WiFi for connectivity and comes with a pretty impressive set of pre-installed software including ClearVue Document Viewer, Code Wallet Pro, PDF Viewer and Zip Tool.

There's no new info on the future availability or price of the 109.5 x 46.5 x 18 mm smartphone, but more information should turn up pretty soon.
