Numo, an up and coming mobile utilities application developer, recently announced that its SMS Preview app managed to pass the 1 million downloads mark in the Ovi Store by Nokia. There are not too many software solutions to have registered such popularity in the storefront, and the developer is very pleased with this performance.

“Working with Nokia has allowed us to reach the mass market with our applications in a truly global fashion in over 170 countries on 50 different types of handsets. The number of downloads we have been able to achieve in such a short time frame can be attributed to the reach that Nokia has, hence Ovi Store is an essential part of our distribution strategy. We are excited to continue developing useful utilities like SMS Preview and bring new applications such as Autosync, a hassle free backup solution, soon to the Ovi Store,” Trond Ingebretsen, CEO of Numo, commented.

SMS Preview, a utility app for Nokia devices, is available all around the world. Users can download the app from Ovi Store in two flavors, including a Pro version, which has all the features of SMS Preview, adding to the mix the possibility to take advance message actions. For example, one can click functions like “answer” and “delete” an incoming text message directly from the preview.

“SMS Preview is a great utility app that more than 1 million Nokia users are enjoying to make more of their devices,” said Marco Argenti, VP and Global Head of Media, Nokia. “We look forward to more Numo utility apps inside Ovi Store that will continue to increase the functionality and ultimately value of Nokia devices to our users.”

Numo has other solutions available in the Ovi Store as well, including the popular mobile caller-ID app Numo Finder, which automatically displays the number and name of callers, even if they are not included in one's phone book. The list of developers who managed to top 1 million downloads in the Ovi Store includes Digital Chocolate (games), Polarbit (games), Shazam, Nimbuzz (IM application), Ravensoft (utilities), MMMOOO (themes), and Nokia with the free Ovi Maps.
