If you pre-ordered a Notion Ink Adam tablet PC and you were hoping to get the device in very early January 2011, there are some bad news for you: you won't. According to some recent updates that the company has just posted on its website, the actual shipping date for the Android-based tablet PC was pushed back into 2011, though only by a few weeks.

Mid-January 2011 is the new targeted shipping date for the device, the company notes, stating that the misunderstanding comes from some errors that slipped into the ordering page on Notion Ink's website.

Customers who already placed orders for the device claim that they were informed on various delivery dates in early January, including the 6th of 9th of that month, but it seems that the company won't meet the deadline.

Here's what the company states:

"Prior to December 15th, there was an error in this page due to which the shipping date was being calculated incorrectly. We apologize for the inconvenience. The date shown here is the correct value, which reflects the date shown at the time you ordered.

This is our best estimate of the shipping date. The actual date may vary; we will keep you informed in case that happens. If you want to modify or cancel the Pre-Order, please [email protected]

However, it appears that only a small number of customers was affected by this issue. According to Notion Ink, only round 50 of them were provided with the wrong shipping date, a recent article on Slashgear reads.

The news site claims they managed to get in touch with Notion Ink's CEO Rohan Shravan, who confirmed that only a small number of customers were affected by the said issue.

“There were few customers who took longer time to finish their order details (some 50) (this was in the span of 5 minutes) and by the time they clicked purchase, the first shipments were already sold,” Rohan Shravan reportedly stated.

“Around 50 people were told about their schedule and there are around 30 for whom schedule is pulled from 22nd to 15th and from 15th to 9th. Products will be released much faster though, this is the max time for these 50 people.”

Notion Ink Adam was put on pre-order only several days ago, but there have been numerous issues with ordering forms, determining some bloggers to doubt the validity of Notion Ink's claims.
