Recently launched Windows 8.1 models will surely attract the attention of consumers

A lot of notebook manufacturers have jumped the Windows 8.1 band wagon lately. This trend can be observed in ODM notebook shipments which have stayed on relatively high peaks, compared to the month past.

Sources from the upstream supply chain have told DigiTimes that demand for tablets has started to slightly decrease. As a result, the estimated 70% shipment growth for 2013 has been reduced to 50%. Moving on to 2014, the growth is expected to shrink even further, down to 25-30%.

On the other hand, notebooks shipments have started to slowly recover the lost territory. That’s because the enterprise market has apparently taken a new interest in recent notebook unveilings, with the market expected to grow in the upcoming months. Average consumers are also targeted in the prediction.

With new models of Windows 8.1 notebooks rolling out, the notebook market will certainly experience a significant refresh.
